Kara Anne Larson is an associate with the Law Firm of Robert Toale. Originally from Minnesota, she moved to New Orleans in 2008 as a volunteer with AmeriCorps. Ms. Larson fell in love with the city and never left. She is passionate about criminal defense and ensuring her clients’ constitutional rights are protected.

Ms. Larson is a graduate of the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and in the top 5% of her class. While in law school, she was on the editorial board of the Loyola Law Review and competed in Moot Court. She placed second among her classmates in oral advocacy and brief writing in the annual intramural moot court competition. Ms. Larson also served as the President of the Loyola Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. In addition to her other accomplishments, Ms. Larson was published in the Loyola Law Review with an article titled, “Ruling from a Vacuum: Using Common Sense, Psychology, and Statistics to Provide a More Realistic and Fair Basis for Deciding Blueford v. Arkansas.”

During law school, Ms. Larson gained experience interning with the Jefferson Parish Public Defender’s Office and the Federal Public Defender’s Office. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Patricia Minaldi of the Western District of Louisiana as a federal law clerk. When Ms. Larson left clerking, she started her own law firm, Equal Access Legal, LLC, which provided services to clients based on income. Ms. Larson then jumped at the opportunity to focus on criminal law with Robert Toale.
